About us

When I organized the Solothurn Horn Days for the first time in 2019 together with my two colleagues Olivier Darbellay and Sandro Pfister, they were held on a rather small scale. With our three horn classes, around 60 participants of all ages and playing levels met at the Solothurn Cantonal School to play together in ensembles, for individual lessons with various instructors, workshops and concerts.
The event was set to be a success. Each year, the number of participants has increased and renowned lecturers from Switzerland and abroad have been recruited, giving the event a very special glow.
After 5 years, the number of participants had already doubled. Concerts were moved from the auditorium of the cantonal school to the concert hall of the city of Solothurn and to the city church, and special offers such as historical horn or alphorn were organized.
Today, the Solothurn Horn Days are a fixed date in Solothurn’s cultural calendar. Lecturers are happy to return to teach, give concerts and exchange ideas. We look forward to welcoming renowned musicians to the next edition of our Horn Days!
